The Backtracker Pass provides you with unlimited travel on the entire CountryLink network, including the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Tamworth, Broken Hill, Albury and many more.
The Backtracker Pass also includes four bonus vouchers on Sydney’s CityRail network
- a DayTripper ticket for all day use on CityRail trains, Sydney Buses and Sydney Ferries.
- a return train/bus ticket to Bondi Beach.
- one way train tickets from Sydney to Katoomba in the scenic Blue Mountains and back.
The Backtracker Pass is only available to overseas visitors holding a valid passport and a return airline ticket.

Terms and conditions
- Backtracker passes are available only to overseas visitors holding valid passports and a return airline ticket.
- The Backtracker pass must be within the valid dates printed on your pass for you to redeem the bonus CityRail tickets.
- All prices are for economy travel for one adult and are in Australian dollars, including Goods and Services Tax, and are valid from from 1 April 2010.
- Travel must commence and the pass validated within six months of the date of purchase.
- Some booking restrictions exist on various CountryLink services. Local travel under 40kms is not permitted, except where there is no other local coach operator on that route.
