Pensioner Travel Voucher booking fee ends 1 July
10 June 2009
Good news for holders of Pensioner Travel Vouchers - from 1 July 2009, you'll no longer pay a booking fee for economy class travel when using your vouchers.
That means it's even easier to visit friends and family and attend appointments using CountryLink.
Customers wishing to use a Pensioner Travel Voucher for first-class travel within NSW will still need to pay a surcharge of $10 or 15% of the peak season adult fare (whichever is higher) as these are premium services.
If you have already paid the fee for travel on or after 1 July, you'll be able to get a refund by calling CountryLink on 132 232.

Up to four children from the same family can travel anywhere on the CountryLink network for just $1 each, one way, when accompanied by one full fare paying adult.
Other terms and conditions of the offer remain the same.

CountryLink Call Centre voted best in New South Wales
6 August 2008
CountryLink's Call Centre has received top honours from the industry's peak body the ATA (Australian Teleservices Association).
"Being named 'Call Centre of the Year' is a magnificent achievement in a fantastic year for the CountryLink Call Centre," said General Manager for CountryLink, Greg McLeod.
"Winning the award is the culmination of a three-and-a-half year journey for the Newcastle team. It was back in 2005 that we set an objective to achieve customer service levels at Australia's best.
"Throughout this period, we developed a team-focused coaching culture. In this environment the team were well aware of our strategic direction and long term goals from day one.
"The whole team is to be congratulated in contributing to this achievement."
The ATA announced that this year's awards received a record number of nominations with an unprecedented seven finalists.
Nominations came from a wide selection of company call centres across NSW including banks, insurance companies, superannuation funds, electricity utilities and retail companies.
The judging criteria focused on the physical environment, cultural feel, and suitability of the complaints process, staff participation and KPI performance of each organisation.
The ATA Awards are recognised within the call centre industry as the pre-eminent awards program.
The Newcastle centre is now one of five finalists in the National Call Centre of the year awards to be held at the Gold Coast on 19 September 2008.

The service just comes naturally
13 August 2007
In June 2007, CountryLink launched a campaign in regional NSW to highlight the friendly and professional service of our staff.
Whether they’re travel consultants, call centre officers, station managers, or on-board service officers, one thing all CountryLink staff have in common is a passion for service.
The people featured volunteered to take part and illustrate how the way we behave at home carries across into our work.
